2 stamps '1935 Moscow to San Francisco' sold for $800k
Вот такое сообщение мне пришло на мыло:
We just concluded a two day auction with excellent results confirming the continuing strength in the philatelic market. Lots 1775 and 1776 consisted of two popular "1935 Moscow to San Francisco" inverts, one with small "f", estimated at $50,000 and $150,000 respectively. After fierce competition, the stamps fetched unprecedented $170,000 and $525,000 plus buyer's premium, bringing the total to $799,250 - a record price for stamps from the former Soviet Union. Strong prices were also obtained for British Commonwealth with $48,875 for a collection of Madagascar (estimated $25,000), United States with $19,550 for a used block of Scott's 834a, German Area, Asia, Turkey and South America. Prices for large lots and collections far exceeded expectations. Complete details and prices realized are available on our website. Our June 3-4, 2008 sales will feature Versailles IV collection, with specialized proofs and essays from France and Colonies; as well as Russian Air Post, featuring the collection formed by Dr. G.Adolph Ackerman. Both sales will be posted online shortly. Visit www.cherrystoneauctions.com
